The animation in the game can be a tad choppy in places, but it does not spoil the game.
I like the look of all the character models and think that there is a good mixture of them looking like they do in the MCU as well as animation and comic books. The way the game looks is kind of in-between the movies and the animated series they did for Disney XD a few years back. While Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is not based on the MCU, I have to say that it has a very similar tone. This can be kind of awkward, not because he is hard to control, but the animation as he moves around is very odd and did take me out of the game on more than one occasion. You have to make various decisions as the game progresses and these can change the way the story unfolds, one early example of this is picking between Gamora and Drax to go with you.Īs well as the story sections of the game, when you control Star Lord (you do get limited control of other characters too) you have to use his boost to move around. Let’s face it while there were various tweaks added here and there to each game, if you have played any Telltale game, you know what to expect from the gameplay. At the time the game was released some people criticized the reliance on humor, but I think with this group of characters, the humor is great as it helps the bond between them grow and as the player, you like them even more because of it. This puts them on a collision course with a very cool enemy, Hala The Accuser who is a Kree. The idea of the game is that the Guardians have finally managed to kill Thanos! While doing this they came into possession of an artifact known as The Eternity Forge which is immensely powerful. Instead, this is its own story and one that as you would expect from these guys, gives the player a great deal of choice in the way that things unfold. The game was released before the second movie came out, but this has nothing to do with the mcu. I have loved the majority of the stuff that Telltale have done so when I heard that Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series was going to be a thing I was very excited.
